Marshall's Story

Marshall's schools include Reagan High School. Marshall works at Abco. Music Marshall likes includes Ronnie Montrose, The Godz, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Orchid, Exodus, Ministry, Hawkwind and Motorhead (Those are but a few bands I like. I've evolved into quite the rocker. \m/ Horns up, pilgrim. Rock and roll ain't noise pollution). Books Marshall likes include Dracula, The Dead Zone, White Line Fever: The Autobiography (Lemmy Kilmister's autobiography), documented ghost stories and hauntings, medical journals, and documented strange medical cases. Movies Marshall likes include Inglourious Basterds, Full Metal Jacket, Lemmy: The Movie, Southern Comfort and Porky's (I'm talking about the original Porky's. That was one funny-ass movie. The sequels were stupid and about as entertaining as watching paint dry). TV shows Marshall likes include Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction and My Ghost Story. KLRU sometimes airs entertaining programs. More about Marshall: "Reformed party animal. Really partied like a rock star after graduation, experiencing life along the way. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, wrote the book and seen the movie. The book was better. You name it, chances are I did it, and more than once. What the hell, life is short. Life isn't all about wicked ways and bad behavior, though. Gotta do some sight-seeing before your time on this little blue ball is up. I've been to the Mayan ruins in the Yucatan Peninsula, referring to the Pyramids. El Castillo is an impressive sight. Seen the ball court there. l game and score points by knocking a rubber ball through a stone hoop. The losers got to see God. Also been to Uxmal, and was the first out of our tourist group to climb the pyramid there. Doesn't sound like so much, unless you take into account the fact that I had my leg in a cast at the time (August of 1984). Also been to Marfa three times (in West Texas, near the Big Bend), in 1993, 2001 and 2009, and I can tell you that the Marfa Lights are for real. The Apaches who used to live in the area talked about the lights for untold generations before the settlers began recording them in 1883. What they really are or where they come from, no one knows. Other places of interest visited were Jefferson, in East Texas, which is like walking back into an earlier time, and Seminole Canyon, in Del Rio. There are petroglyphs (rock paintings) along the canyon wall there on the Pecos river that go back thousands of years. The oldest date at least 10,000 years. And of course, I've been to New Orleans and got trashed there. But who hasn't? Going to NoLa and getting stupid is almost a rite of passage. I don't engage in a whole lot of nonsense anymore. Had a hellacious health scare back in 2010. Indeed, I almost kicked the bucket. Twice. Spent fifteen days in the hospital. Anyone who thinks I'm bullshitting and just trying to be dramatic for whatever reason, talk to me. I'll be more than happy to tell you everything. Take care of yourselves, boys and girls. It's easy to take your health for granted until you put it in real jeopardy. Nobody can stay at the party forever."
